Notice of Vacancies
The City of Osage is seeking individuals for various City board and commission appointments for the following year. The City of Osage appreciates diversity in these appointments and welcomes all interested persons at least 18 years of age. Terms and dates of appointments vary. These are unpaid positions. A brief description follows:
Board of Adjustment: Five-member board to review City zoning ordinance and hear requests for variances or special exceptions to the ordinance. Five-year term, meets as needed-infrequently.
Planning & Zoning Commission: Seven-member commission to review and enforce City zoning ordinance and make recommendations on any proposed changes to same. Five-year term, meets as needed-infrequently.
Library Trustees: Seven-member board made up of two rural residents and five City residents who meet monthly to oversee the public library and all its affairs. Six-year term.
Osage Municipal Board of Trustees: Five-Member board who meet monthly to oversee the Osage Municipal Utilities and all its affairs. Six-year term.
State law requires political subdivisions to make a good faith effort to balance most appointive boards, commissions, committees and councils according to gender by January 1, 2012, and each year thereafter.
